Yamuna Ball Rolling

Yamuna Ball Rolling: Course overview

The Yamuna ball work can enhance all forms of movement  practice. Used in conjunction with the Pilates method it is a system that can help clients reorganise their structure, improve range of motion, enhance performance and ultimately prevent injuries or chronic pain. The ball work is an extremely effective self-care practice for instructors and  practitioners.

The experiential approach to learning in this workshop will give you, as a practitioner, an understanding of muscle re-lease based on internal sensory experiencing. It directly stimulates bone, improving bone quality that may have been reduced as a result of high-intensity training or repetitive stress in everyday life. In this way the ball work can prevent aging effects on bone such as osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.

Most importantly it improves the bone-tendon connection, so tendons move out more easily from bone toward the muscle body freeing up both deep and superficial fascial lines. With supple tendons, all movement and stretching becomes easier.

This work on the Yamuna balls can:

  • Elongate muscles
  • Reorganise and realign the body structure
  • Increase circulation
  • Decompress nerve roots to allow a free flow of energy
  • Stimulate internal organs and the nervous system
  • Expand the lungs and deepen breathing
